LIC AAO Exam Pattern 2019: The LIC AAO Recruitment Notification 2019 has been released recently. They are looking for eligible candidates for Generalist, IT, CA, Acurial and Rajbhasha  Adhikari, adding up to a total of 590 vacancies. The selection test takes place in 4 phases: Prelims, Mains, Interview and paramedical exam. The LIC AAO Prelims exam was conducted recently and the mains exam will be conducted on 28 June 2019. LIC AAO Exam Pattern And Selection Procedure

It is important that you keep track of new updates and changes in the notification, as it might affect your preparation drastically. For instance, a lot of changes have been made in the exam pattern since last year. Don’t worry, we have curated them into a list for you so that you can avoid any hassle.

  1. Originally, the LIC AAO exam was in two stages – the Online test and the Interview. Now, they have introduced a Mains exam.
  2. Current affairs and general awareness have been added to the Mains test syllabus.
  3. They have also introduced sectional timings.
  4. You need to obtain the minimum qualifying marks in each section separately.
  5. You also need to obtain minimum marks in the aggregate to qualify.
  6. English test is qualifying in nature, i.e. the marks obtained in it will not be used for calculating your rank.

LIC AAO Exam Pattern for Prelims 2019

To be properly prepared, you need to know the exam pattern and syllabus thoroughly so that you can allocate more time to the important areas and less time to the not so important ones. Consult the exam pattern and plan accordingly.

Preliminary Examination consisting of the objective test will be conducted online. The test will have three sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows

Note

  1. The English test in Prelims and Mains (for Generalist and IT/CA/Actuarial) and the Knowledge of Language test in Mains (for Rajbhasha) are qualifying and will not affect your rank.
  2. There is some confusion regarding whether there is negative marking in the tests or not. The general consensus is that there is no negative marking, as there is no explicit mention of a penalty for wrong answers in the LIC AAO notification 2019, as opposed to the previous year notifications.

LIC AAO Personal Interview

  1. Only mains marks will be considered for shortlisting for the interview.
  2. Mains + Interview marks will be considered when making the final merit list.
  3. Maximum marks that can be obtained in the interview is 60.
  4. Qualifying marks for various categories:
    1. EWS, Unreserved, OBC and PwBD: 30
    2. SC/ST: 27

There is no waiting list for the candidates who didn’t clear the Mains examination.

Merit list

The mains + Interview marks will be considered when making the merit list of the candidates. In case two candidates obtain the same score, the following criteria will be considered:

  1. Candidate with the higher educational qualification will be preferred
  2. The older candidate will be preferred

LIC AAO Final Selection

Pre-recruitment Paramedical Test: Shortlisted candidates in the final merit list will have to undergo Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination and if found medically fit, will be offered an appointment.
